Summary of Position
Performs basic operations in the manufacturing process of plastic components used in the assembly of medical devices; operates basic equipment including but not limited to extruders, mills, cutters, blenders, etc.; assists in maintaining inventory control of raw materials and finished products; ensures adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Performs basic machine functions such as loading, unloading, operating and cleaning machines.
Performs hand packaging, bulk packaging or formulation operations.
Operates simple equipment, including but not limited to extruders, mixers, cutters, blenders, dryers, ovens, hoppers, tanks, pumps, valves, pipes, filters, conveyors, balers, compactors, etc.
Monitors and adjusts processes for production operations.
Adjusts screws, dies, punches, air jets, screens, molds, cylinders, etc., to meet specifications.
Performs sample testing and inspects product.
Packages, labels, and prepares finished goods for shipping.
Cleans work area and equipment, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
Assists in troubleshooting equipment and resolving issues in production areas.
Maintains appropriate documentation, records and paperwork for all activities.
Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement.
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Proficiency in English language (reading and writing).
Basic math skills, basic computer skills, and good communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Demonstrated knowledge of FDA regulations related to medical device manufacturing.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to wear protective clothing and PPE as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
