Purpose:
EHS and Air Specialist is in charge of measuring air emissions (COVs) and leading projects to control these emissions. You will also be in charge of certain EHS projects aimed at promoting the EHS culture across the organization.
Contacts/Stakeholders: EHS Vernier, Global EHS, Vernier Operations, authorities, internal and external auditors.
Core Responsabilities:
As an Air Specialist :
• Air Emissions Measurement and Control
• Identify needs, then plan and carry out air emission measurements using appropriate equipment (FTIR, anemometer, dilution system, etc.) and process the results
• Optimize equipment and methods for measurement and data processing.
• Develop expertise in the state of the art of emission measurement technologies.
• Manage relationships with equipment suppliers and other external consulting providers.
• Keep the vents and emissions register up to date.
• Plan and organize periodic air emission inspections with approved external providers.
A) Demonstrate expertise in the field of air quality and COVs
Complete and improve the annual regulatory reports and submit them on duly time to the cantonal authorities (Air Emissions Report and COVs Report).
B) In charge of specific environmental projects
As an EHS Specialist :
• Support Management and operations staff for internal/external regulatory compliance
• Stay abreast with EHS regulations and actively applies knowledge to projects and daily tasks
• With authorities related to Environment, Health and Safety; reporting to EHS Manager any clue of authority concerns
• Develop compliance training and documentation and conduct EHS trainings when required
• Participate on the development of EHS procedures/Policies, recommend changes when appropriate and tracking their implementation
• Follow up all audits findings; and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of their corrective & preventive actions
• Help on organizing site EHS committee meetings and following up all actions agreed in the committee meeting
• Help on risk assessment and provide tangible solutions to minimize risks
You?
- Degree in Science/Engineering, or EHS field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial environment
- At least 2 years of experience in air emissions measurement and control, and in project management.
- Communicative English, local Language essential
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Proficient in Excel and data processing
- Good knowledge of chemical engineering and analytical measurements
