Position Summary
Within Contract Manufacturing Organization Team in Operations, the Manufacturing and Engineering Team oversees the Product Lifecycle Engineering & External Manufacturing including Product Industrialization.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Automation Intern, to support our dynamic team at Nestlé Nespresso HQ in Vevey for a 6-month internship. This role focuses on Lean Manufacturing and Automation in coffee machines, offering hands-on experience in international pilot projects aimed at highly automated assembly of coffee machines, as well as Lean Improvement Projects at key suppliers.
A Day in the Life of a Manufacturing Automation Intern
- Support an international pilot project in partnership with key manufacturers, Swiss Smart Factory, and universities targeting 100% automation
- Implement and run Lean Improvement Projects at key suppliers
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Industrialization Teams
- Coordinate with external partners, including development partners, suppliers, and manufacturers
What will make you successful
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with an automation specialization from EPFL/ETH or HES
- Familiarity with Modular Automation Systems for manufacturing assembly (Cobots, Humanoids, Robots, Testing Equipment)
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Digital Solutions (digital passport, digital twins/shadows)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to adapt in a fast-paced global environment
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French is a plus
