We’re supporting a fast-scaling company in the Crypto space in their search for a Senior Legal Counsel. The company is scaling fast and now needs someone to lead legal and regulatory matters under MiCAR and DORA.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll shape policy, engage with regulators, support product development, and establish internal frameworks from scratch. The company has big ambitions and needs someone who can make compliance a competitive advantage.

Tasks

• Lead the development of legal, compliance, and regulatory functions across the organisation
• Implement and refine the company’s MiCAR/DORA compliance strategy
• Act as the main liaison with local regulators and auditors, ensuring transparent, high-quality reporting
• Design and implement company policies across compliance, data protection, and data security
• Monitor evolving regulatory developments and ensure ongoing alignment with crypto-related frameworks
• Advise product and strategy teams on the regulatory implications of new features and services
• Manage licence applications and regulatory approvals where required

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles, ideally within financial services, crypto, or fintech
• Strong knowledge of MiCAR, DORA, and other relevant EU regulations (e.g. MiFID II, PSD2, e-money, securities law)
• Hands-on experience managing licence applications and direct engagement with regulators
• Solid grounding in data protection and information security obligations
• Comfortable operating independently and building structure in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting
