Proclinical is seeking a Piping Category Specialist and Buyer to manage procurement activities for investment projects, focusing on piping materials and services. This role involves strategic category management, supplier relationship management, and coordination of procurement strategies for complex projects. You will primarily work at the Visp site, with potential involvement in other locations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute category strategies for piping materials and services.
• Manage demand, supply, and capacity planning with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Monitor market trends, including technological and regulatory changes.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks within the category.
• Provide regular market intelligence reports on lead times and pricing.
• Develop purchasing execution strategies for projects.
• Procure piping bulk materials, fittings, flanges, supports, insulation, passivation, installation services, and design.
• Define and implement procurement strategies and targets based on market conditions.
• Bundle procurement measures across sites to optimize efficiency.
• Prepare, negotiate, and maintain framework agreements.
• Evaluate new suppliers and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Optimize lifecycle costs and reduce transport and ancillary expenses.
• Lead or participate in projects to improve technical purchasing efficiency.
• Manage large, complex RFQ packages end-to-end and support medium/simple RFQ packages.
• Provide benchmarks and cost breakdowns specific to the category.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

• Background in engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in pharma, biotech, or similar sterile environments (e.g., semiconductors).
• Expertise in tendering complex piping/mechanical packages in GMP environments.
• Familiarity with EU, UK, and DACH regional markets for relevant categories.
• Proven experience in category management, including strategy development and implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of contract management and agile project management methods is a plus.
• German language skills and experience working in Switzerland are advantageous.
• Certifications in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS) are desirable.
