We are hiring for a driven Production Chemist to manage the operational activities of assigned manufacturing projects with overall responsibility of manufacturing execution with regard to safety, quality and on-time-in full delivery. You will lead an interdisciplinary team of production leaders, supervisors and specialists and be accountable for the performance and results of the assigned projects including cost control.

The role is based in Visp, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed. This role involves being onsite full time.

What you will do

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams as Functional Lead for all manufacturing aspects of assigned products

• Responsible to prepare and execute risk analysis for the assigned products and the implementation and control of defined measures.

• Responsible for the documentation of the processes and process Know-How with the corresponding reports according to the asset- or product specific requirements.

• Responsible for cost calculation to plan the production. Overview of costs during production is taken into account for the subsequent performance assessment.

• Drive continuous improvement in production area for quality, cost, efficiency and safety.

• Responsible for training of the operators for the manufacturing of the assigned products.

• Support Plant Manager (Produktionsleiter, Anlageteamleiter) and Head Manufacturing Staff in training and planning tasks.

• Represent LONZA Manufacturing unit during customer audits and visits

• Execute innovation and improvement projects comprising general manufacturing aspects for the production plant.

Ihre Hauptaufgaben

• Leitung multidisziplinärer Projektteams als fachlicher Verantwortlicher für alle Herstellungsaspekte der zugewiesenen Produkte

• Verantwortlich für die Vorbereitung und Durchführung von Risikoanalysen für die zugewiesenen Produkte sowie für die Umsetzung und Kontrolle definierter Maßnahmen

• Verantwortlich für die Dokumentation der Prozesse und des Prozess-Know-hows mit den entsprechenden Berichten gemäß den anlagen- oder produktspezifischen Anforderungen

• Verantwortlich für die Kostenkalkulation zur Produktionsplanung. Die Übersicht über die Produktionskosten wird bei der anschließenden Leistungsbewertung berücksichtigt

• Förderung kontinuierlicher Verbesserungen im Produktionsbereich hinsichtlich Qualität, Kosten, Effizienz und Sicherheit

• Verantwortlich für die Schulung der Operatoren für die Herstellung der zugewiesenen Produkte

• Unterstützung des Produktionsleiters (Plant Manager, Anlageteamleiter) und des Leiters des Herstellungspersonals bei Schulungs- und Planungsaufgaben

• Vertretung der LONZA-Produktionseinheit bei Kundenbesuchen und Audits

• Durchführung von Innovations- und Verbesserungsprojekten mit allgemeinen Herstellungsaspekten für die Produktionsanlage

What we are looking for

• Bachelor or Master or PhD in the field of Process / Plant Eng / Chemistry

• In-depth technical knowledge in CQ and OPs , possibly in the biological, chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry

• Extended EHS knowledge

• Solid internal and external collaboration and the ability to lead diverse teams in the successful delivery of projects.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

• Fluent in German and English. Alternatively, you are fluent in one of the two languages and willing to learn the other.
