Summary:

Join our forward-thinking team as a Cloud Backend Developer (f/m/d), where you can make a significant impact on the development of SAP’s AI agent runtime and agent tools.

The Role:

• Contribute to the development of SAP’s AI agent runtime and agent tools.
• Work on product backlog items, ensuring functionality, high quality and scale, using test-driven development.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a cross-functional team to ensure team success.
• Explore and assess new technologies in the field of GenAI and agentic AI.

What you bring:

• Excellent university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A proactive, team-player personality. At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing cloud-native applications, microservices, and web applications. Your proficiency in these areas will be assessed through a coding interview. 
• Skilled with at least one strongly typed language. Experience in developing backend (e.g. TypeScript/Node.js) components.
• Commitment to clean, scalable code and robust API design, with knowledge of Clean Architecture.
• Strong AI know-how and the ability to keep pace with GenAI technology shifts.
• Familiarity with data-centric languages, SQL databases, Natural Language Processing, Docker/Kubernetes, SAP CAP, and Git is beneficial.
• Very good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.

Our team is part of SAP’s Busienss AI and AI Core organization and develops SAP’s AI agent runtime and agent tools. We are driven by our mission to integrate the latest technology in AI into all our enterprise applications, thereby empowering our customers to maximize the potential of their business.

You will work with a highly skilled team that is based in Walldorf, collaborating with other teams in Germany, Europe, the US, and APJ. As part of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to SAP’s agentic platform while working with advanced technologies and tackling real-world problems at the intersection of AI, Cloud, and DevOps.
