The SAP Experience Garage is SAP’s IES’ human-centered innovation hub and community platform provider. The technology platform is a gamified, peer- and collaborative-learning approach to share knowledge, exchange ideas as well as help connect and inspire one another.

Job Overview
As a Backend Developer at SAP, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for our SAP Experience Garage technology platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers, to create seamless and efficient solutions that enhance user experiences and deliver value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Development: Develop and maintain the backend components of the SAP Experience Garage platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
2. Coding and Testing: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while conducting thorough unit testing and debugging.
3. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver on project goals.
4. Security: Implement best practices for data security and access control, addressing potential vulnerabilities proactively.
5. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of backend code, APIs, and system architecture for reference and knowledge sharing.
6. Agile Development: Participate in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences in Germany
• Preferred fields of study: Software Engineering
• Computer skills: Expertise in backend technologies and Java programming language, Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Language skills: fluent in German and English
• Soft skills: team player, creative mind

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships).
