Assistant IP (f/m/d)

Responsibilities:
- Support and non-legal, administrative advice to clients in all trademark and design proceedings
- Preparation and filing of German and international (at DPMA, WIPO, EUIPO) trademark and design applications as instructed
- Preparation of other foreign trademark and design applications; instructions to corresponding attorneys as instructed, and Monitoring of completion
- Supporting attorneys in trademark and design monitoring
- Preparing and filing oppositions, cancellation actions, and the corresponding appeals in accordance with instructions
- Noting and monitoring the deadlines set by intellectual property offices in Germany and abroad for trademarks and designs, as well as the deadlines automatically resulting from the relevant laws
- Correspondence with domestic and foreign clients and corresponding attorneys (partly in English), and Monitoring the receipt of letters
- Preparing the calculation and arranging the payment of official fees for trademarks and designs based on the fee schedules of the respective offices (DPMA, WIPO, EUIPO)
- Maintaining and processing current accounts with the German Patent and Trademark Office and international offices
- Processing incoming mail, independent file management, including deadline notation and monitoring
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed training or studies with proven trademark and design content (trademark and design consultant, trained patent attorney assistant)
- At least three years of professional experience in the administration of trademarks and/or designs in a patent law firm is essential
- Experience with trademark and design monitoring
- Experience as a trainer in the field of trademark and design administration, e.g., as part of a train-the-trainer concept, is an advantage
- Experience in the field of domains is an advantage
- Confident knowledge of general secretarial tasks, office organization, IP management software, SAP, and MS Office
- The ability to work independently and on your own initiative
- Strong team spirit
- Business fluent German and fluent English and good communication skills
