Responsibilities arrow_right
- Manage highly complex research & development projects at the intersection of technical textiles, combined with emerging technologies such as machine learning, data science, AI, digitalization and related fields.
- Leverage physics-based modelling and AI tools to formulate and predict textile behaviour and performance, enhancing innovation and improving project results.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives within the Freudenberg Group and actively contributing to the growth and development of internal business areas & internal projects.
- Present project results to internal/external partners, senior leadership, and diverse audiences, while actively driving new project acquisition efforts.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships and collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary and international teams with a high level of stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications arrow_right
- PhD (or equivalent) and strong expertise in Textile Engineering, Fiber Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in hands-on data-driven development (e.g., machine learning, data science, AI, digitalization), evidenced by projects, publications, start-ups, or consulting assignments.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in industry, ideally within R&D or innovation-driven environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Julia, C/C++, and familiarity with databases (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB), web frameworks (e.g. Flask), and cloud technologies (e.g. Azure).
- Demonstrated excellence in project management, ideally with a stage-gate process, showcasing strong analytical, problem-solving, and implementation skills. Skilled in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration across international teams.
