Your role:

Our procurement team is transforming to enable our Corporate Sourcing division to advance science and technology with customers. As Head of Corporate Procurement , you will shape and drive strategic procurement initiatives that significantly impact our innovative product lines and sustainability goals. You will lead a dynamic team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, while playing a key role in our mission to make a positive difference in the world of Procurement. In this role, you lead a +€4.5 billion category of spend for indirect sourcing categories. You build solid relationships with important stakeholders to understand their business strategies, needs, and nurture key partnerships, enabling a holistic procurement approach. You nurture and strengthen relationships with key strategic partners to build a competitive advantage for Merck and ensure access to innovation. You provide a holistic procurement approach for Merck and develop sound strategies aligned across the organization.

Who you are:

• With at least 10 years of experience as a leader in procurement.
• Relevant background and experience in some of the areas of spend under your scope.
• Proven experience leading an organization through transformation/change.
• An experienced people leader who demonstrates passion for developing future procurement leaders.
• Strong analytical and quantitative modeling skills, including the ability to structure, collect, analyze, and communicate insights based on data in an organized manner.
• Experience with Shared Services interfaces.
• A background in the Life Science or Healthcare environment is preferred.
• A proven track record of building effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, regarded as a trusted business partner.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate and operate in a highly matrixed environment while achieving common objectives.
• Fluent in English.
