About the role
Join AstraZeneca to lead brand management for a breakthrough launch product in Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM)—the first innovation to this category in a decade. You own the annual brand budget for costs and sales, set bold targets, track performance rigorously, and craft a sharp, insight-led go-to-market (GTM) strategy. You know how to launch a pharmaceutical brand with excellence.

Key responsibilities

Strategic

  • You lead the development of the GTM strategic plan aligned to the Global brand strategy.
  • You make insight-led decisions, staying constantly informed about market conditions and translating them into differentiated marketing concepts.
  • You define, track, and course-correct against clear brand KPIs.
  • You roll out integrated PR and multi-channel communication plans to build awareness and advocacy.
  • You continuously monitor competitors and market dynamics through brand trackers, sales analyses, and market monitoring.
  • You share best practices across the region and collaborate through global brand forums with AZ global and operational teams.

Operational

  • You partner with Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Medical, and Sales to deliver compliant, high-impact execution across promotional materials, educational events, patient support programs, and omnichannel campaigns.
  • You work closely with the sales force, designing product-specific marketing training that powers field impact.
  • You build strong relationships with opinion leaders and represent AstraZeneca at scientific and promotional events to amplify credibility and advocacy.
  • You drive agendas in the brand team as an impulse provider and motivator, and you represent the brand team in the SMT/region.
  • You own the brand budget end-to-end, monitoring spend, creating forecasts, and making decisions on resource allocation and budget shifts.
  • You serve as the first point of contact for sales managers to enable aligned and effective execution.

Compliance

  • You conduct activities consistent with AstraZeneca’s values and in full compliance with the AZ Code of Conduct and all supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role. You complete all required training on time and report any potential issues of non-compliance.

Qualifications

  • You hold a university degree in a scientific or economic field.
  • You bring at least 3 years of proven work experience in a similar role within pharmaceutical companies.
  • You have launch experience (specialty or primary care); CVRM therapeutic experience is a plus.
  • You have a good command of English and German (written and spoken).

Functional skills and competencies

  • You think and plan strategically, translating global brand strategy into local execution.
  • You demonstrate launch excellence with a track record of successful product introductions.
  • You excel in brand planning—insight generation, positioning, messaging, and omnichannel planning.
  • You possess strong business and financial understanding, including P&L awareness, budget management, and ROI optimization.
  • You are commercially aware, understanding market dynamics, access, and competition.
  • You bring analytical rigor and audit-quality reporting skills.
  • You influence effectively and manage stakeholders cross-functionally at various seniority levels.
  • You run complex projects with excellent planning, prioritization, risk management, and on-time delivery.
  • You manage budgets confidently—forecasting, tracking, and allocating resources.

Soft skills and technical competencies

  • You are proficient in MS Office and comfortable working with new technologies and digital tools.
  • You hold a category B driving license.
  • You are goal-oriented and highly self-motivated, with strong ownership and a bias for action.
  • You communicate, coach, and present with clarity; you simplify complex topics.
  • You perform well under pressure and show resilience and high emotional/social intelligence.
  • You are comfortable navigating both financial and scientific information.

We offer

  • A starting salary from € 84,223 annual gross. Depending on qualifications and experience, an overpayment is possible. Participation in the company's success through bonus payments is a matter of course, as are company cars and company mobile phones.
