C1 German-speaking Manual Tester (ISTQB, Jira, Software Quality Assurance)
Location: [90% Remote with occasional travel to Vienna)

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester with proven expertise in test case execution, defect management, and software quality assurance . The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with Jira, ISTQB methodology, and manual test processes to ensure software products meet business and technical requirements. This role requires independence, attention to detail, and proactive communication in a German-speaking environment .
Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and design documentation for accuracy, completeness, and testability.
• Create, execute, and manage manual test cases , even without detailed documentation.
• Identify, log, and track defects/bugs through to resolution, ensuring clear communication with development teams.
• Record and manage defects using Jira , with retesting after fixes are applied.
• Apply structured testing methodologies and logical approaches to identify functional defects.
• Work independently and raise questions proactively when encountering uncertainties.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Manual Tester / QA Tester / Software Tester .
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or higher).
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira for defect logging and management.
• Practical expertise in manual test case creation, execution, and defect resolution .
• At least 2 professional references within the last 36 months as a Test Expert , each with a project scope of at least 100 person-days .
• German language skills (C1+) – fluent written and spoken communication.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) with interest in hybrid testing approaches.
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies .
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA best practices.
