Job Description

We are currently seeking to hire a Lab Advisor/Data Engineer for our PSS Vienna Team. This role will support one of our teams based in Vienna, and your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Data Optimization: Enhance data sources to ensure the acquisition of highly structured and meaningful data (e.g., LAM, GENI (including raw data), ASTER control charts).
• Data Flow Optimization: Streamline data flows for typical experimental and study setups, including data transfer from laboratory equipment to storage and digital architecture (e.g., fermentation, chromatography, analytics).
• Programming & Scripting: Develop and/or implement programming and scripting solutions to improve data flow (e.g., VB macros, PowerApps, Bots).
• Lab Equipment Support: Assist with regular calibration and preventive maintenance activities for lab equipment.
• Sample Shipment Preparation: Provide support for the preparation of sample shipments.
• Content Verification: Conduct content verification and perform raw data checks for study data.

Qualifications

For this interesting opportunity we are looking for somebody with

• Bachelor/Master level in (Bio)informatics, Data Science or equivalent or Bachelor/Master level Biology/Chemistry with a strong focus on data analysis and processing
• Experience with Microsoft PowerApps, VB macros or Bots
• Good knowledge of scripting and programming
• Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.)
• General understanding of a lab workflow
• Strong communication skills with proactive and solution-oriented personality
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Fluency in English, German skills are a plus

The minimum salary according to the collective agreement (application group III) for this position is at least EUR 2633.91 (2025). Due to the responsible and demanding tasks and with appropriate qualifications, an appropriate overpayment is envisaged.
