To strengthen our global engineering team, we are looking for a Group Process Engineer who will take part in major international investment projects and help shape the future of our pharmaceutical manufacturing landscape.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of process units and systems, including layout design, equipment specification and engineering documentation. You will be involved in large-scale CAPEX projects, including greenfield plant developments, contributing to the design and implementation of engineering solutions in line with Octapharma’s group strategy.
The position will be filled in Vienna (Austria), Springe (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden) or Lingolsheim (France).

Your main tasks and responsibilities
- Design and development of process units and process systems, including basic layout design
- Calculation, design, and specification of all required process equipment
- Development of the automation level as well as design and calculation of control and automation systems
- Coordination with other design engineers (e.g. automation, electrical)
- Preparation of calculations, cost estimations, requests for quotation, and comparison of technical and commercial solutions
- Assistance in the preparation of project descriptions and documentation for commissioning and qualification (QPL, DQ, IQ, OQ)
Your expertise and ideal skill set
- Completed technical education (FH/University degree in process or chemical engineering, or a comparable technical qualification)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in process design and engineering, ideally in a regulated environment (pharma/biotech preferred)
- Strong understanding of mathematics, science, physics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) applications for process engineering
- Experience in interdisciplinary engineering projects and managing technical interfaces
- Structured and analytical working style, with the ability to perform under pressure
- Willingness to travel up to 30%

- The Group Technical Organization consists of Group Engineering, Automation, and Maintenance. We are represented at all production sites in Europe.
- You will work in a multinational organization supporting all production sites from a technical perspective.
- The Engineering department mainly works on project development in the early phases of strategic projects.

Additional information (Austria only):
The minimum gross salary according to the collective agreement (chemical industry) is EUR 4.270,14 based on 38 hours per week (full-time). As we strive to offer a salary that reflects your individual profile and qualifications, there is a willingness to pay above the minimum salary.
