Offer Description
The Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure, Institute for Applied Geology is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate.

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group:
B1
Gross monthly salary:
(depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 2.786,10
(payable 14 times per year)
Responsibilities
- Research in th field of landslides in rocks in high-mountain terrain
- Engineering- geological and geomechanical investigations and analyses
- Application of the ground-based radarinterferometry
- Writing of scientific publications in international journals and presenting the results on international conferences
- Independent scientific work: The opportunity to pursue a doctorate is given/supported
- Support of the supervision of Bachelor and Master students
- Participation in teaching and administrative tasks
Required skills and qualifications
- Diploma degree in Geology, Natural Hazards, or Civil Engineering or other equivalent university degre
- Language skills: English and German
- Research experience in the field of landslides
- Knowledge in engineering geology and geomechanics
- Geological field mapping experience
- Knowledge in the installation, acquisition and analysis of remote sensing and monitoring systems
- Knowledge of specialist software products
- Experience and willingness to work in high alpine regions
- Didactic skills
Desired skills and qualifications:
- High social competence, reliability, ability to work in team
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
- Willingness to travel for field campaigns and national and international conferences/ workshops
- Independent, self-initiated working style characterized by adherence to deadlines
- Driver license B
