About us:
alchemia-nova research & innovation gemeinnützige GmbH (ANRI) is an independent non-profit applied research organisation focused on innovative and sustainable resource management. The interdisciplinary and international team conducts research, innovation, engineering, consulting, training, and communication in the fields of circular economy, bioeconomy, climate change adaptation, and nature-based solutions.
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Expert with expertise in Circular Bioeconomy and experience in research & innovation or consulting projects. The role contributes to the EU-funded Horizon Europe projects RURBANIVE and FUTURAL. In RURBANIVE, ANRI is leading the development of circular bioeconomy solutions in the Austrian rural-urban co-creation lab in Vienna, focusing on innovative pathways to valorise residual biomass streams. In FUTURAL, ANRI is developing Circular Bioeconomy Smart Solutions for the region Pongau (Salzburg), focusing on innovative scenarios for the local valorisation of sewage sludge. We are looking for an expert with EU project experience, who fits into our dynamic and impact-driven team.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply and further develop methods such as Material Flow Analysis (MFA) and Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Analysis (MCDA) to assess circularity potential and sustainability trade-offs.
Assess economic potentials and trade-offs, including the impacts on value chains.
Co-create circular innovations in collaboration with regional stakeholders.
Liaise with project partners to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
Develop scientific content for reports, articles and conferences; prepare high-quality publications, project deliverables, and presentations.
Desirable Background, Knowledge, and Experience:
Master’s degree in economics, environmental resource management, circular economy, or related fields.
Proven experience in scientific project work within EU-funded or other collaborative R&I projects.
Knowledge of circular economy and bioeconomy principles, strategies and policies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and collaborative work approach.
Digital tools and programming skills (e.g. Python) for data analysis, modelling, and visualisation are desirable.

Salary: Depending on the level of relevant experience and background, we offer a competitive annual salary in line with the Austrian Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research ( foreseen category D1–D3 of the 2025 Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research — assuming category D1: gross EUR 3.252 per month based on FTE, plus 13th and 14th salaries).
