The team of the The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is looking for a Lady or Gentlemen for the position:

Pastry Chef – leading our Pastry Department

The Pastry Chef leads the pastry and dessert operations of our kitchen, creating innovative, high-quality desserts and baked goods that align with The Ritz-Carlton’s brand of luxury and excellence. This role requires both artistic vision and technical expertise, with a strong focus on presentation, flavor, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pastry and dessert production, ensuring quality, consistency, and creativity
• Develop and implement seasonal menus, signature desserts, and specialty baked goods
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage cost controls for the pastry department
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, adhering to Ritz-Carlton policies
• Mentor, train, and inspire pastry team members to uphold the highest culinary standards
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to create cohesive menu experiences
• Innovate and experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation techniques to enhance guest experience
• Participate in special events, banquets, and catering services, adapting creations to large-scale production when necessary

Your Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience, with specialization in pastry or baking
• Experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel, fine dining, or high-end restaurant
• Mastery of classic and contemporary pastry techniques
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills
• Exceptional creativity and attention to detail in presentation and flavor
• Knowledge of food cost management and inventory control
• Passion for delivering a personalized guest experience
• Knowledge of dietary-specific baking (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) as an advantage
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written), German as an advantage

The statutory gross minimum remuneration for this position, based on full-time employment, is € 2.263,00 per month. A higher salary will be offered, depending on your qualifications and experience.
