The Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies (IHB), a research institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a Position as

POSTDOC (W/M/X) full time / 40 hours per week

(Full-time employee)

to be filled from August 1, 2025 for a limited period of thirteen months. Part-time employment possible upon agreement.

Your Tasks

• Preparation and submission of an independent project proposal in a highly competitive national or international funding program in the field of modern art history of the Habsburg Monarchy, preferably using digital or computational methods
• Independent research activities and publications
• Engaged participation in the activities of the institute and the research unit

Your Profile

• University degree (PhD) in the fields of modern art history or digital humanities
• Excellent knowledge of English is required, other language skills are an advantage
• Experience in acquiring third-party funding is an advantage
• Several years of relevant professional experience are an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of and experiences in digital and computational humanities are an advantage
