At the Institute for Structural Engineering , in the research area of Structural Mechanics and Structural Dynamics, a position as Post-Doc University Assistant, expected from February 2026 (40 hours per week, limited to expected 3 years) is to be filled with the following area of responsibility. Following the initial 3-year term, the position may be extended for an additional 3 years, subject to meeting given criteria.

The research unit focuses on mechanics and structural dynamics, using analytical, numerical, and experimental methods to model building structures’ static/dynamic behavior, with research interests in seismic design, vibration monitoring, system identification, soil-structure interaction and vibration damping of high-rises and bridges. It operates a laboratory with modern equipment for vibration measurements on structural models. The research objectives align with industrial requirements. Teaching includes compulsory courses in technical mechanics for civil and environmental engineering.

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
