Your Personal Sphere of Influence:
The Department of Political Science provides research and teaching in the full range of core areas of political science, develops innovative and problem-oriented research focuses and offers a broad diversity of options for its students to seek specialisation. Its staff is currently involved in examining the transformation of governance, state and democracy in different policy areas, geographical regions and political spaces.
The Centre for European Integration Research (EIF) is a research group within the Department of Political Science that is dedicated to research and teaching in the field of European integration. It has specialized in problem-oriented basic research regarding different EU policy areas and their comparison.
Starting date from September 1st, 2025; Duration of the limited contract for 4 months (December 31st, 2025); Deadline for applications on July 18th, 2025.
Your Future Tasks:
Active support in research, teaching and administration in the field of EU research ( Prof. Dr. Gerda Falkner ). This includes mainly:
- support of scientific research
- editing daily news for a media protocol
- summarising books and articles
- assistance with the preparation and execution of events
- assistance with administrative tasks
- picking up books from the libraries
- maintenance of an Endnote library
What We Expect:
o currently studying political science (bachelor or master) or a related study branch - your master graduation may only happen towards the end of your employment
- ideally with a focus on the European Union
- interest in European Integration and digitalisation
- plans to keep studying at the University of Vienna for at least another year
- good competence in German (level B2 or C1)
- excellent competence in English (level C1 or C2)
- familiarity with MS Office
- high ability to communicate and very good social skills
- exactitude
- flexibility
- autonomy on instructed tasks

Your salary as a student assistant will be EUR 944.72 (before taxes, per month) for 14 hours working load.
