Freelancer Fluent C1 German - Test Automation Engineer Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality software delivery through test case management, automation frameworks, and defect resolution. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Playwright, and SoapUI , combined with strong knowledge of agile testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business requirements and design documentation for completeness, accuracy, and testability.
• Create, execute, and manage test cases with or without supporting documentation.
• Record, track, and manage defects until resolution is confirmed.
• Define regression test cases and maintain automation suites for ongoing quality assurance.
• Develop, implement, and execute automated test cases using industry-standard tools (Tosca, Playwright, SoapUI, etc.).
• Log and monitor defects in Jira , ensuring proper retesting after resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance testing strategies and coverage.

Desired Technical Knowledge

• Strong hands-on expertise with test automation frameworks .
• Optional: In-depth knowledge of Tricentis Tosca and Tosca Server products (TDS, DEX, etc.).
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles .
• Working experience with Agile methodologies , Jira, and Confluence.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in automated testing .
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with test automation tools (Tosca, Playwright, SoapUI, etc.).
• At least 2 years of Jira and Confluence usage for project tracking and collaboration.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or higher.
• Optional: AS1, AS2, and AE1 Tosca certifications .
• German language skills (written and spoken) at C1 level or above .
