Scientific research in bioinformatics, genomics, and evolution of crop plants and their wild relatives, supporting and extending current research lines of the Institute of Computational Biology o Preparation of scientific publications, presentations at conferences and seminars o Participation in grant writing o Supporting the group’s computing infrastructure, databases, and services o Teaching activities in English and/or German

Doctoral degree/PhD with scientific focus on genome bioinformatics/ computational biology o Excellent English language skills both written and spoken are required, Basic knowledge of German is desirable

Postdoctoral experience is beneficial o Experience with the analysis and interpretation of large data sets, in particular highthroughput sequencing data from eukaryotic organisms o Solid skills in programming and scripting (Perl or Python, R, Linux tools, bash scripting) o Experience in presenting at conferences o Excellent publication record
