Über diesen Job

Our client, an established financial institution with cross‑border activities across the DACH and Luxembourg region, is seeking an experienced AML / Financial Crime Expert to strengthen its compliance function. The role focuses on Swiss AML requirements while collaborating closely with colleagues in other European jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

AML Advisory & Governance

  • Act as a subject‑matter expert for AML/CFT topics, primarily related to Swiss regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to local Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) and act as Deputy MLRO when needed.
  • Support management with complex AML/CTF, sanctions, and financial crime‑related questions, including preparing decision papers.

Operational AML Activities

  • Ensure high‑quality KYC and due‑diligence checks during onboarding and throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Review and analyse unusual activities and handle AML‑relevant daily business transactions.
  • Coordinate and validate the preparation of suspicious activity reports.

Policy, Controls & Framework Development

  • Further develop AML/CFT policies, governance structures, and internal control frameworks (incl. name/transaction screening).
  • Lead and execute technically demanding projects, such as policy updates, system enhancements, or cross‑border standardisation initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments for products and outsourcing arrangements.

Regulatory Monitoring & Reporting

  • Analyse developments in Swiss and international regulations (FINMA, GwG, EU/DE/LU) and translate them into actionable measures.
  • Manage periodic AML controls, risk analyses, and internal/external reporting obligations.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring effective coordination and documentation.

Cross-Border Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with compliance teams in other jurisdictions to maintain a consistent group‑wide AML framework.
  • Deliver internal AML/CFT training and support awareness initiatives.

Your Profile

  • Degree in law, economics, or a comparable field.
  • 5+ years' experience in AML/Compliance within banking, wealth management, or auditing/consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss AML regulations (FINMA, GwG) and familiarity with EU/DE/LU frameworks.
  • Practical experience with KYC standards, screening tools, case management, and drafting SARs.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex cases, and drive cross‑border initiatives.

What This Role Offers

  • A highly visible position with significant influence on AML governance and processes.
  • Opportunity for cross‑border collaboration and exposure to multi‑jurisdictional frameworks.
  • A stable, international working environment in the banking/wealth management sector.
  • Professional autonomy combined with strong leadership support.
