About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Engineering Department in Zurich, the Assistant Director of Engineering is responsible to support to the Director of Engineering to provide all our Guests and Colleagues with a comfortable, safe and aesthetically pleasing environment by protecting the Hotel assets through cost conscious, superior maintenance processes and dedication to continuous improvement.

As Assistant Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Support with audits, orders, and budget planning

• Cost control and supplier management

• Maintenance of technical documentation and maintenance schedules

• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (FLHSS)

• Participation in renovation and improvement projects

• Deputizing for the Director of Engineering in their absence

As Assistant Director of Engineering, we expect from you:

• Several years of experience in a similar administration-focused role, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry

• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a diverse team

• A highly structured, detail-oriented, and solution-driven working style with excellent organizational and coordination skills

• Very good command of German and English (spoken and written)

• Strong proficiency in MS Office; experience with hotel or facility management systems is an advantage

• Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
