About the Role
As a Data & Insights Intern, you'll be at the heart of our data-driven decision-making process, providing crucial transparency into our global Life & Health business operations through sophisticated data analysis and visualization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze IFRS data and contribute to building robust data pipelines that transform raw information into actionable insights
- Develop deep understanding of Life & Health business operations and IFRS reporting methodologies affecting income statements and balance sheets
- Process and interpret performance measures and technical aspects of risk selection under IFRS reporting frameworks
- Transform complex data from multiple sources into compelling visual narratives that support executive decision-making
- Create standardized visualizations that effectively communicate key data stories and business messages to senior leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Regional Finance and Actuarial teams across multiple countries
The position is located in Zurich and the start date would be September 15, 2025.
About the Team
Within Reinsurance Finance, our Data & Insights team is responsible for comprehensive financial data analysis and the continuous enhancement of information-sharing tools for Life & Health Reinsurance worldwide. We leverage our extensive data resources and company network to provide senior management with critical insights into business performance, guiding them toward accurate and impactful decisions. Our team serves as a CFO function for both the Head of Life & Health Products and the Head of Life & Health Business Management. We maintain close collaboration with pricing and actuarial teams globally to ensure the highest quality of financial information and insights.
You're an analytical thinker with a passion for translating numbers into meaningful stories. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to apply your technical skills to real-world business challenges. Your curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies that can enhance data processing and visualization.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Completed bachelor or master degree in statistics, economics, finance, business administration, or natural sciences
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate numbers and draw relevant conclusions
- Proficient in MS Excel and programming languages such as PySpark, Python, R, or similar tools
- Basic understanding of financial statements, particularly IFRS17 principles
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
These are additional nice to haves:
- Actuarial background or coursework
- Experience with cloud technology for developing data pipelines
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
- Additional language proficiencies beyond English
- Previous internship experience in finance, data analysis, or related fields
