We’re looking for curious, motivated graduates with strong people skills who want to grow, learn, and make a difference. If you hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD and have up to 3 years of professional experience, apply to our 18-month Graduate Programme starting 1 September 2026.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of reinsurance, make a rotation in a different team, and receive tailored training to build your expertise. This is your chance to shape your future and help protect societies from the world’s most complex risks.
In the second half of the programme, we will work with you to jointly develop your individual perspectives for your career at Swiss Re.

You’ll play an essential role in protecting some of the world’s largest commercial and industrial properties. From evaluating new opportunities and assessing fire and natural catastrophe risks, to drive our company’s profitability and your will directly influence our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Review insurance submissions/policy and supporting documents to assess eligibility and risk factors such as fire, explosions, and natural catastrophes - while using cutting-edge tools and technologies
- Analyze underwriting data, including loss history, financials, and market trends, to prepare informed recommendations on policy acceptance or rejection
- Calculate competitive premiums by turning risk assessments into tailored client offers in line with company guidelines
- Collaborate with stakeholders including brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather insights and clarify policy details
- Support senior underwriters on complex, high-impact tasks across the underwriting process
- Take ownership of projects that provide end-to-end exposure to the underwriting value chain, including portfolio steering

You’ll engage with clients on their largest property risks while connecting internally with colleagues across front- and back-office teams. P&C Reinsurance is Swiss Re's largest Business Unit, spanning four exciting lines of business: Property, Casualty, Specialty, and Facultative. As part of our Graduate Programme, you'll join the Global Facultative Market Unit. You'll become part of a truly international and diverse team of around 90 colleagues across EMEA locations, where team spirit isn't just a slogan — it's how we work every day.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements
- A successfully completed university degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) — preferably in Economics, Engineering, Science, or equivalent work experience
- Genuine interest and motivation to build a career in Property, Casualty, or Specialty Reinsurance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and maintain high attention to detail
- Clear and confident communicator, comfortable engaging with clients, brokers, and senior colleagues
- A team player with a positive, collaborative mindset, who can also work independently when needed
- Curious and innovative, eager to take initiative, learn quickly, and take ownership of tasks
- Excited by the opportunity to work in a truly international and multicultural environment
- Excellent oral and written English; additional languages are a plus (especially French, Spanish, or Italian)
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Copilot)
The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
