We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Product Owner to drive the evolution and operate our Securities Finance Trading and Collateral Management platform. The PO, as vital part of the agile DevOps team, will play a key role in defining, prioritising, and delivering features that enhance trading and operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and client service across securities lending, borrowing, repo and collateral workflows. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and innovation, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.YOUR CHALLENGE
Define and prioritise product features and enhancements based on objectives and key results, strategic business development, user feedback, and business priorities
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria
Act as the primary liaison between the development team, business stakeholders, and other relevant departments
Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it is constantly updated and reflects the most current priorities
Work closely with the development team during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews to ensure successful delivery of features and enhancements
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies to track progress and address any issues or impediments
Aligns feature delivery and milestones. Ensures on time/ in-full delivery of features within defined timeframe
Stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, banking, or related relevant field
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role
Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering software products in an Agile environment
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Business Understanding Requirements:
Comprehensive Knowledge of Securities Lending and Repo Trading:
Strong understanding of the securities lending and repo trading markets, including key processes and regulations
Familiarity with securities lending products, such as equities, fixed income and funds, as well as repo trading operations, including repurchase agreements, reverse repos, and collateralised lending
Familiarity with industry platforms such as FIS SFTC, Pirum, EquiLend, or similar
Strong understanding of front to back processes including securities settlements, corporate actions, tax implications, and client reporting.
Ability to assess the risks and benefits associated with securities lending and repo trading transactions, including counterparty risk and collateral management
Collateral Management Expertise:
Deep understanding of collateral management practices, including collateral eligibility, optimisation and valuation.
Experience in collateral management triparty system landscape and tools to ensure efficient and compliant collateral operations, including exposure management for various financial products and transactions
Regulatory Compliance:
Awareness of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to securities lending, repo trading, and collateral management, including frameworks such as SFTR
Knowledge on FINMA, MAS and HKMA regulations, in the context of securities lending, is a plus
Ability to prioritise competing demands and make data-driven and/or risk-based decisions
Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships
Familiarity with product management tools such as Jira, Agile Hive, Xray
Certification in Agile or Product Management (e.g., Certified SAFe Product Owner) is a plus
