We are currently recruiting for an experienced, dynamic and visionary Senior Director of Cardiovascular & Renal Global Commercial Development to join our team. This pivotal role will serve as the commercial voice within the R&D Product Strategy Team (PST), driving early product strategy, Target Product Profiles (TPPs), Target Product Claims (TPCs), Stage-Gate Preparation, and Life Cycle Management (LCM) Planning and Execution. The successful candidate will contribute to the therapeutic area (TA) strategy and execution to maximize long-term asset value, optimize portfolio balance, and identify opportunities for inorganic growth.

Main responsibilities:

  • Commercial Leadership: Act as the primary commercial representative in the R&D Product Strategy Team (PST), influencing early product strategy, TPPs, TPCs, Stage-Gate Preparation, and LCM Planning and Execution.

  • Product Strategy and Execution: Lead the development and execution of the Product Strategy to drive long-term asset value and optimize product profile

  • Inorganic Growth: Lead cross-functional assessments of prioritized indications, assets, technologies and MOA’s from the external environment, identifying and evaluating these opportunities for inorganic growth, including partnerships, acquisitions, and collaborations. Conduct data-driven commercial diligence and drive successful business development financial cases.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with functional and regional partners (e.g., Market Access, Insights and Analytics, US and International) to present a unified commercial voice in PSTs, TALTs, and other teams, influencing strategy and investment decisions.

  • Portfolio Optimization: Ensure a balanced portfolio by managing assets across various disease areas and risk profiles, leveraging both internal and external opportunities.

  • Strategic Influence: Define and drive the asset strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market needs.

Required qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in commercial development, strategy and/or analytics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, specifically in Cardiology and/or Nephrology.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence and drive decision-making.

  • Expertise in leading commercial assessments of external opportunities with prior experience in BD+L/M&A, analytics, consulting and/or commercial strategy.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with global teams.
