About You

As a Software Engineer with an AI focus at Optiml, you will sit at the core of our product and data platform - where complex, messy real-world data is transformed into clear, decision-grade intelligence for real estate leaders.

You thrive at the intersection of software engineering, data systems, and applied AI. You’re excited by ambiguity and enjoy going from zero to one: shaping early product direction, designing robust data architectures, and shipping production-grade AI-powered features that customers rely on every day. You don’t just experiment with models; you build durable systems around them, with strong data foundations, evaluation loops and operational rigor.

Your mission is to help scale Optiml’s data and AI capabilities end-to-end: refining onboarding through smarter data ingestion, rolling out the next generation of our data scoring, and tackling hard problems like entity resolution, source tracking, and contextual understanding across structured and unstructured inputs. You’ll work closely with Product, Forward Deployed Engineers and the wider engineering team to turn customer pain points into elegant, automated solutions.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an engineer who wants real impact. You’ll be trusted to make pragmatic technical decisions, move fast without cutting corners and raise the bar for how AI-driven products are built at Optiml. Tasks

Responsibilities

• Product Strategy: Own the AI strategy for a core part of the product, using your product sense to turn customer pain points into elegant automated solutions.
• Agentic Systems: Prototype and deploy production-grade agents—from advanced unstructured document parsers to natural language query engines on top of our live databases.
• Feedback Loop: Set up the infrastructure to serve models, collect production data for evals, and implement continuous refinement loops for our agentic systems.
• Design & Engineering: Ship frontend and backend prototypes to validate key design concepts.
• End-to-End Ownership: Own the whole development lifecycle, from technical specs to deployment and post-launch monitoring.Elevate the Team: Collaborate on architecture and lead design/code reviews, instilling high standards for engineering across the company.

Requirements

You have:

• 5+ years of experience designing, building and maintaining applications.
• Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale
• Expert programming skills in Python and Typescript
• Hands-on experience with Agentic systems, including RAG, Vector Databases, and building custom evaluation frameworks.
• BSc, MSc in Computer Science or Data Science or equivalent
• Experience setting up production grade data pipelines and workflow orchestration
• Ability to contribute individually and in teams.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Swiss or EU citizenship (unfortunately due to size, we can’t support non-EU).

Nice to have:

• Domain Expertise: Prior knowledge in Real Estate or Fintech data structures and workflows.
• Model Optimization: Experience with Fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA) or model distillation to reduce latency and costs.
