The Director, Project Process & Capabilities will be accountable to operationalize, maintain, and mature the integrated processes, tools, and standards for how Critical initiatives are prioritized and delivered across SC. They will be the owner of a centralized Portfolio, Program and Project execution capability driving continuous improvement and capability maturation and will develop & own the roadmap for delivery and scale. They will define our data and reporting strategy (Key Performance metric definition, dashboard creation-publication).
The scope of the role will include all aspects of SC portfolio and project management (people, process, and technologies, change management) capabilities. The Head of Portfolio, Program & Project Management will lead a small team and will rely on collaboration & partnership to drive optimized and fit for purpose solutions for prioritization & execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process & Capability
Design, deploy and maintain the SC standardized process to ensure integration between strategy, prioritization & resourcing, and execution (e.g., Standard project management methodologies, standard portfolio inputs, system/tool utilization, etc.).
Shape & lead the ongoing communications, training, deployment of advancement, playbook and RACI updates, and the ongoing standardized execution framework across SC.
In partnership with the business process owners from Portfolio, Program and Project Management, own scaled operation and maturity of portfolio, program & project management, including reporting and resource prioritization across the execution portfolio in support of Global Execution.
Training
Ensure current documentation of standards are in place & maintained and that functional leads are supported in order to scale and maintain capabilities across SC including change management process.
Shape the strategy and drive process & system training for new Portfolio, Program and Project Management professionals that lead functional execution.
Systems & Reporting
Establish standardized reporting & analytics strategy for the integrated Portfolio, Program and Project Execution teams (i.e., cadence, audience, KPIs and key measures, system requirements, reporting, etc.).
Drive accountability across all functions and all levels of SC to prioritize Programs & Projects and implement them in a consistent manner. Lead definition of and alignment to Process Metrics (KPIs) to assess process robustness.
Define a Digital / AI strategy to enable optimized capability deployments.
Create data standards aligned to overall SC Data and Digital Strategies & lead analysis of process integrity applying standardized data and leverage that data to drive decision making.
Create opportunities for feedback and enhancement of capabilities including voice of the customer, data / KPI analysis and benchmarking.
Direct people management & development; coaching of cross-SC resources on the capabilities supporting execution.
Technology supplier relationship management to translate business needs into system enhancements & new capabilities.
Leadership
Articulate a clear vision and outcome, develop a clear roadmap to achieve; drive team delivery of implementation, with excellence and efficiency
Demonstrate courage, influence, and collaboration to lead with transparency, align on common goals and ways of working, drive actions, mitigate risks, and cultivate collaboration and partnerships with leaders
Apply strong story telling using data, analytics, and supply chain expertise to lead complexity, influence decision making, and deliver outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor's/University or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree or focused degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Finance or related field is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience including deep experience in leading process development, deployment, and continuous improvement in operations, finance, portfolio, or project management
Portfolio and/or Program Management experience
People Leadership experience, preferably with experience mobilizing and directing global teams to develop global solutions
Broad business and financial skills to shape prioritization of initiatives
Demonstrated experience in operationalizing strategy across the business, articulating the case for change, and identifying new opportunities as they arise
Experience scaling capabilities across a large, complex global environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the track record of influence and collaboration to reach a desired result
Strong communication to create clear and concise messaging to leadership
Detail and solution oriented with ability to work within broad guidelines but challenge status quo
Preferred:
Certifications including Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional, and Change Management
Experience with Portfolio & Project Management tools and systems & system supplier management
Utilization of technology to drive efficiency in processes
OTHER:
Requires proficiency in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively and professionally
May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
Requires the ability, through our flexible work policy, to work on-site a minimum of three days each week, with the option for two remote workdays each week
