EU Commission: Building a European Health Union: HERA: Proposal for a Council Regulation on a framework of measures for ensuring the supply of crisis-relevant medical countermeasures in the event of a public health emergency at Union level (HERA) – Part 3
In the 1st part of the description of the EU-Commission’s mission to build the “European Health Union”, the “European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority”, HERA, was introduced as one of the key instruments for the realisation of these plans. It will work closely together with the other cornerstones involved in this mission: EMA (European Medicines Agency), here especially the “Emergency Task Force” and the 2 Steering Groups, the Medicines Steering Group and the Medical Device Steering Group, as well as the “European Center for Prevention and Disease Control”, ECDC. HERA is installed inside of the European Commission as an internal Commission structure. In the 2nd part a more detailed description of HERA including its organisation and work plan was given. In this 3rd part the proposal for a Council Regulation giving the framework of measures for preparedness in case of a public health emergency at Union level will be dealt with.
