adidas will use more than 60% recycled polyester in 2021 adidas is moving closer and closer to its self-imposed #sustainability goals: Today, the world's second-largest sporting goods group announces that it will use sustainable materials for more than 60% of all its products in 2021. At the same time, the Group reaffirms its goal to use only recycled polyester from 2024 onwards.

BETAFASHION would like to welcome Francesco Fortunati as our new front-end developer. While Francesco was studying computer science, he discovered his passion for web development. With this in mind, he started working as a frontend developer in a small company in Dublin. Back in Italy, he thought he was missing a big part of the whole web ecosystem: backend development.

Pitti Uomo takes place digitally and instead Pitti Uomo started on January 12-14, 2021 via the Pitti Connect platform and will then take place from February 21-23, 2021. In mid-November, the Italian trade fair company Pitti Immagine has its personal authorization management. Now the digital part of the 99th Pitti Uomo is taking place on the actual January date.

Plastic bags are banned from January 2022 From January 2022, the distribution of plastic bags at shop checkouts in Germany will be definitively banned. The Bundestag had already passed a corresponding ban in November. Now the Bundesrat in Berlin approved the decision.

Première Vision and Milano Unica go digital in February Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the fabric fairs in Paris and Milan are going digital only in February. Première Vision is adding e-commerce features to its online platform. Milano Unica, together with Pitti Immagine, is going digital with a revamped website. Both organisers hope that the acceptance of digital formats will grow.

Recycling of blended fabrics is commercially feasible: H&M Foundation extends partnership with HKRITA For a long time, recycling of blended fabrics was considered more or less impossible in the textile industry, as either the resulting yarns were considered too inferior or the whole process was considered commercially unfeasible.

Payam will be joining us as a Software Engineer in working and cooperating to improve our ETL software. He has many years of experiences in developing software with Nodejs and NoSql Databases. Farfetch's ambitious sustainability goals Farfetch has announced its first sustainability targets as part of its "Positively Farfetch" strategy. The ten-year strategy is for the circular model to exceed traditional sales by 2030.The strategy, which is part of a broader plan to be "the platform for good in luxury fashion."

Fashion for Good The sustainability initiative Fashion for Good has launched a new project for the traceability of viscose. Every year, around six million tons of viscose are used to make garments, and the trend is rising. However, it is estimated that 30% of this comes from endangered forests. It is therefore important to ensure that the fibers come from renewable sources.
