The shortest possible summary: Ireland "happened" to me in 1973 or 1974 (first visit, second love affair). Then, possibly my biggest mistake: we turned this love affair into business: Gaeltacht Irland Reisen, travel agency and tour operator into Ireland, was founded on May, 3rd, 1983. 30 years in the business, with lots of additional projects to come after, besides many projects in Ireland which were involved in:

- the totally independent quarterly irland journal magazine started in 1990 (www.irland-journal.de)

- I became publisher of the German of the German Music Magazine FOLKER (www.folker.de),

- the www.celtic-music-net.com was founded and

- currently (since Januar 1st, 2013) we supply far more than 100,000 Germans with this famous "Irish Life - story and travel book" for free (All about the latest challenge on www.gaeltacht.de/days)).

May, 3rd, 1983: Gaeltacht Irland Reisen founded as a specialist German travel agency and tour operator for Ireland.

Gaeltacht joins the registered charity “Europäische Ferien-Heimvolkshochschulen“ which was a few years later re-named “European Centres for Culture and Communication”.

Christian Ludwig publishing Company founded: first issue of the “irland journal” appears in 1990

1 9 9 6 : Around the Frankfurt Book Fair Our masterpiece: At he end, some 1300 cultural events were part of this nationwide festival “A Day of Irish Live in Germany”, coordinated by us

2 0 0 4 : Riverdance. We organise an Ireland information stand at app. 80 shows.

2 0 0 8: We start the only German Music Magazine dealing with “Folk, Song and Worldmusic”. Name: Folker.

We also create the new Internet event-portal www.folk-lied-weltmusik.de.

Another new internet-portal invented: www.celtic-music-net.com

2 0 1 0 : Take over of the www.irish-shop.de

2 0 1 3 : For lots of reasons we do again what we did before in 1996 and coordinate

”5 0 0 D a y s  o f  I r i s h  L i f e  i n  G e r m a n y 2 0 1 3”.

This project now running since Januar 1st and includes more than 1000 Irish cultural events in Germany. We use these concerts, lectures,  events as a marketing platform for Irland, to promote its arts and culture AND THE GATHERING – and we use it for us and our existing partners.
