ABOUT US

NGN-Istanbul, founded in 2007, provides services in all fields of translation with a team of professional linguists, desktop publishing experts and engineers. Our staff experts have performed translations for foreign companies, which are among the top in their fields. Our company also provides terminology studies, desktop publishing, localization, proofreading and sound recording services related to translation services.

TRANSLATION

In translations, besides knowing the source language and text, it is also very important to master the target language and use it correctly. The translations should reflect the language of the target culture and harmonize with other texts, which were written in that field and language.

The areas of expertise of NGN-Istanbul are technical translations. Our staff has years of experience especially in the fields of automotive, machines, electrical hand tools, security systems, work machines, home appliances and software.

Our company, which predominantly provides technical translation services from German, English and French into Turkish, is also able to implement translation projects in other languages upon request. We provide translation services for the following types of documents:

TRANSLATION PROGRAMS

All of our translators can use different translation software, especially Across and Trados. Our company began to work with Across, the most important translation assistance software worldwide, in late 2008.

LOCALIZATION

Localization is the adaptation of contents, processes, products and especially computer software to the linguistic and cultural properties in a geographical region or in an ethnic society market. One of the most important tasks of localization is the adaptation of products or product documents to the legal principles of the region, where the products will be put on the market.

As the Turkish language has specific properties, more localization studies have to be performed during the translations compared to other languages. The localization studies are realized by experts with specialized knowledge. Our translators have carried out important localization studies, especially in the field of software.

DTP

With our desktop publishing service, we prepare computer-aided publications like operating manuals, catalogues, brochures and magazines for printing or publishing.

Our desktop publishing team has a good command of all desktop publishing programs (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, QuarkXPress, Adobe illustrator).

TERMINOLOGY

The terminology study is one of the most important subjects in order to find the right equivalent of the words in the target language and to ensure the language integrity. The terminology consistency should be provided especially regarding large-capacity translations of corporate companies. Before starting a translation; NGN-Istanbul goes through its own database, performs a pre-terminology study with field experts and completes the final terminology study in cooperation with the company, which receives the translation services. We create different terminologies in our database for each company and the terminology is updated with each new translation. We believe that terminology management is a very important subject, especially regarding the implementation of corporate projects. For this reason we discuss and determine the method and program for terminology management and production together with the companies and institutions, which receive our translation services.
