Über uns
Dürfen wir uns vorstellen?
The Taunus International Montessori School, founded in 1973, is a private school for 18 months - 6 year old children. TIMS is located close to the northern suburbs of Frankfurt at the foothills of the Taunus hills in Oberursel, Germany, 15 minutes from the Frankfurt city centre.
TIMS is an international, English speaking school with three groups of children mixed in age between 3 and 6 years and one group of toddlers, ages 18 months to 3 years. The school day runs from 8.30 am to 3 pm.
The school is operated by a registered non-profit association of parents. In accordance with its charter, the purpose of the school is to provide education and cultural instruction for children within a Montessori framework and to prepare them for subsequent schooling in the international community. All religions and races have equal rights at the school.
The Montessori Method encourages independence in children, while offering them the security of the familiar. The Montessori learning material is repeated in variations reflecting the individuality of each class teacher throughout the school. Our children are helped to make decisions for themselves one small step at a time. They may do this without the fear of being alone and so proceed gradually at their own rate towards the achievements opening up before them. Being offered a large variety of activities to stimulate their learning process, they may choose many of their tasks in freedom, thusly enhancing their own ability to realize self-respect. This self-respect in turn, leads to the respect of others, a goal inherent to the Montessori teaching method, and one which when achieved, accompanies the child the child a life long.
The Taunus International Montessori School is an advocate and caretaker of the young child – providing well - rounded educational, cultural and developmental stimuli in a comfortable, cherishing atmosphere to protect and nurture each individual, while teaching respect and care for each other and the environment.
Curriculum development is carried out continually in conjunction with the Montessori Method of teaching.
