Oxytocin is a peptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus and secreted by the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. Oxytocin as a neurotransmitter plays an important role in various behaviors including orgasm, social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, maternal behaviors & sexual reproduction. Our assays use standard solution which has been calibrated to the 4th WHO International Standard NIBSC.
