Developing AI applications.

I am a postdoc at the Medical Faculty at Leipzig University, working on a medical chatbot. I tackle the task of developing a generative AI system that is powered by information retrieval (RAG). I also work on reducing hallucinations, improving the quality of responses, and evaluation.

I research technologies that help individuals to make informed decisions. Using recent advances in NLP, ML, IR, and computational argumentation, I develop methods that identify the need for decision making in asked questions, parse questions to extract entities of interest, retrieve relevant information nuggets from texts, identify pro / con arguments, and generate / summarize answers that help to make a choice. Additionally, I explore identifying misinformation.
