Dr. Charles DiComo

Reporting to the EVP and Managing Director, Dr. DiComo is a full member of the Global Management Team based in the United States. He oversees the operation of the Safety & Efficacy, Microbiology, Virology, and Biomarker global central laboratory services by assuring quality, compliance and performance to the highest standards at each of their wholly-owned facilities in Washington DC, Breda, Paris, Bangalore, Singapore, and Shanghai.

Reported to President/CEO & Board of Directors, Audit Committee. Developed, implemented, and managed the Compliance Program, monitoring Aureon’s day-to-day compliance activities and ensuring the appropriate licensing, marketing and legal compliance of Aureon's medical products, combining his knowledge of scientific, legal and business issues to ensure product safety. Was accountable for all responsibilities of the Manager of QA/QC, QA and Validation Engineers, as well as oversight of the IP portfolio.

Reported to President/CEO. Had oversight of day-to-day commercial operations, sales & customer support, corporate compliance & the Company’s Intellectual Property portfolio. Under his guidance, Aureon had seen 11 U.S. patents and 1 international patent issue on the core Systems Pathology technology platform, had launched two commercial prognostic tests, Prostate Px®⊕ and Post-Op Px® for direct sale to physicians to assist in the treatment of their prostate cancer patients not only in the U.S., but Europe.

Reported to President/COO. Established and managed the Clinical Diagnostics/Prognostics Laboratories. Developed the appropriate logistics, forms, protocols and procedures for the launch of Aureon’s clinical diagnostic/prognostic tests. Worked closely with the sales organization with technical support to insure maximum sales penetration of Aureon’s diagnostic/prognostic tests, including Post-Op Px® and Prostate Px®⊕.

Reported to CEO/President. Directly responsible for the management & day-to-day operations of the CLIA-certified Clinical Laboratory, which included a laboratory of Ph.D. Scientists, M.D. Pathologists, and Technicians. Work closely with researchers on Project Design, Management, Flow, & Implementation. Direct Quality Systems; lead the QA/QC Management Teams. Implemented the Corporate QA, GLP and SOP Documentation Standards.

Reported to CEO/President & COO. Directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Labs. Oversaw the Environmental Health and Safety Division; enforced the Lab Safety and Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP); coordinated OSHA Lab Safety Training. Administered all in-house, on-line purchasing systems & document/periodical request services. Negotiated contracts, service & PM agreements with all Lab and Ops vendors. Performed early stage R&D test protocols leading to Aureon’s proprietary platforms.

Served as Laboratory Head/Research Associate in the Division of Molecular Pathology as a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Research Special Fellow. In this capacity, managed/coordinated day-to-day operations of the molecular & histopathology laboratory, assisted in scientific direction of Post-Doctoral Fellows, Graduate Students, & Technicians, conducted Independent Research as part of the NY p53 Consortium, & was active in developing state-of-the-art molecular pathology methodologies.

Dr. DiComo was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Fellow in the Dept of Biological Sciences under Dr. Carol Prives. He conducted independent research with a dedicated Graduate Student & Research Technician; was granted ~450 sq/ft Laboratory space by the Department & Principal Investigator; reviewed manuscripts; published in peer-reviewed Journals; & coordinated of the Departmental Post-Doctoral Fellow Society.

Responsible for Independent Research Projects; presentation of weekly results during a Five-Laboratory Group Meeting; maintained laboratory equipment and managed PM contracts and service agreements; coordinated inter-laboratory softball and volleyball tournaments; participated in charity golf tournaments at Bethpage State Park Golf Course.

Completed graduate studies at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories in Dr. Kim T. Arndt’s lab through joint program with SUNY. Conducted independent & joint research; reviewed manuscripts; authored & published in peer-reviewed Journals; coordinated Graduate Student Seminar Series.

Accelerated 1 Year Master's Program; independent research in Dr. K. Nath lab; studies on genetics of G. vaginalis and effects of EtBr & SYBR Green I on PCR. Member; Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society (Upsilon Phi Chapter); Aesculapius Medical Arts Society.
