The work focuses on an auxiliary power unit for trucks based on High-temperature fuel cell technology (SOFC – Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) operated with conventional diesel. As part of the work a concept for a final realization was developed. A crucial subsystem in this concept is a fuel processing unit directly implemented in the anode path. Benefits are expected for higher and more efficient hydrogen yield in the reformer due to optimized fuel/recirculation gas mixing and less carbon formation.
