Manage a forecast of $150 Million+ annual budget by planning and coordinating the ministry’s budgeting function. As a member of the Financial Analysis team, this position plays an essential role in the sector balance sheet accounting process and verifications, provides expert knowledge and advice to financial and program staff, resolves financial issues and facilitates corrections, contributes to the developing and delivering of training to staff, and is key to preparing for Month End, Quarter End, and Fiscal Year End.

The FMG Woodlands Accountant’s major focus is providing the Woodlands team with relevant financial / statistical analysis and information to assist in the development of strategies for continuous improvement, and participating in decisions that enhance the operation’s and Canfor’s bottom line. The Woodlands Accountant is a member of the Forest Management Group.

Preparing year end audits and report/financial statement compilations. Preparing financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Maintaining accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounts. Maintaining client files and payroll records; preparing cheque requests and purchase requisitions. Cash management including preparing wire transfers and cheque issuance.

Responsible for the assessment of the proposed real estate projects and sponsors creditworthiness. Supports Real estate relationship managers in structuring of complex real estate transactions In charge of preparation of the internal credit applications for the decision-making levels. Monitoring of the economic parameters of the existing financing portfolio (financial covenants & payment releases for development financing). Active part in client meetings and negotiations.
