In a laboratory and greenhouse trial, I worked in a team to investigate two essential oils as a biopesticide option to manage Delottococcus aberiae, an invasive pest in Spanish citrus orchards. Likeswise, we look into the residual effect of the essential oils on the key natural enemies of the pest. Results showed that essential oils are an excellent alternative to synthetic chemicals for managing pests, with limited residual effect on the natural enemies.
