Marketing and sales of carbon materials to the metallurgical industry; technical support to customers; developed new carbon sources/markets. Responsible for key accounts in Europe with contracts on >10 million USD. Deals in most cases comprising both purchasing from suppliers as well as sales to customers. Developed Carbon Partners’ first quality management system leaning on ISO 9001 system. Implemented structured internal systems to document compliance with global “Together for Sustainability”-initiative.

Developed, implemented and operated an innovation management system. Efficiently identified the core of proposed ideas and their potential value. Facilitated that ideas from UiA can give commercial results. Gained deep knowledge of public research and innovation funding programs, including eligibility and application strategies.

Evaluated the business potential of a company that develops new technology for production of silicon for the photovoltaic industry.

Responsible for the 5 decentralized R&D teams (USA, Brazil, Norway, France, China) and the global project portfolio of the Saint-Gobain Silicon Carbide Department; launched 17 new products since 2008, generating >50 mill Euro sales in 2010. Gained experience with photovoltaic industry (Si wafering), automotive industry, ceramics, refractories, abrasives, metallurgical industry

Developed the R&D department from scratch to an international recognized team. Project accountable for the development of the microsilica based product line SIDISTAR®, a new product to new markets development from laboratory to full scale plant realisation; estimated market potential >20 mill Euro. Gained experience with polymers, papers, coatings, well drilling products, concrete and fibre cement industry

Project related operational responsibility for prototype production as well as follow up on customer site.

Project management for several projects related to continuous improvement of industrial electrodes made of carbon composites and follow up on customer site (mainly FeSi and Mn-alloys producers).

Testing of mechanical properties of carbon-fibres.

PhD thesis: “Investigation on the softening of pitch and pitch/filler mixtures”.

Thesis: “Investigation on the sintering behaviour of pistons made of poly-aromatic-mesophase with special focus on the pistons’ dimension.”
