Topic: Simulation of machining of interrupted structures made of Inconel Alloy 718 by selective laser melting Constructed parametric CAD models of lattice support structures in NX Siemens. Conducted experimental testing of the machining process on lattice support structures under various cutting conditions. Performed thermo-mechanical explicit analysis of support structures in Abaqus. Analysed the process output parameters like cutting force for finding the best machinable support structure.

Topic: Mechanical characterization and FE simulation of silicone-based thermal interface materials Prepared dog bone and notched specimens for experimental analysis. Investigated the tensile behaviour of the specimens by measuring the local strains using Digital Image Correlation at different temperature and aging. Implemented and validated the test results using FEM model in Ansys. Development of fracture criterion based on strain energy for V- notches in the same material by extending the FEM model.

Performed non-linear pull out analysis to investigate the effect of amplitude and wavelength on the reaction forces and compared with conventional fibre in Abaqus. Automated the FEM job from importing CAD model to post-result analysis.

Topic: Fatigue analysis of adhesively bonded joints under constant amplitude loading and mixed mode behaviour Conducted experimental testing on Single Lap Joint (SLJ) for static and fatigue loading. Developed a strain based FE damage model for the degradation of cohesive elements under mixed mode fatigue loading. Performed fatigue analysis on SLJ for different fatigue loads to determine fatigue lifetime. Validated the test results to develop an accurate FEM model.
