My current position sounds fairly easy: finding the best story tellers, solution sellers, problems solvers and client delighters in the EMEA market and hire them for LinkedIn. It is a fantastic role in a truly inspirational and innovative organisation & it fills me with excitement and satisfaction to tell others about the transformational opportunities LinkedIn is able to offer.
I was parachuted into HSBC for their most prestigious recruitment project. The task sounds simple: fill 400 compliance roles with the best talent in the market in less than 6 months. The execution was more complicated. Leading a team of 14 people in 4 locations in 3 countries, weekly reporting to the board, identifying top talent in a highly competitive market plus constant analysis, review & adjustment of our resourcing & attraction strategy were just a few of the challenges I faced during my first months.
I was fortunate enough to play different roles and add value to the business in various ways. I was responsible for the recruitment of all support staff into Deloitte with a volume of 500+ hires per year. Additionally, my responsibilities included the day-to-day management of the business intelligence team which delivered operational and strategic insights to the recruitment function and the overall business. I was involved the roll-out of an upgrade to the ATS used at Deloitte: Taleo.
I helped global players such as ebay, Masterfoods and Olympus to find multi-lingual accountants in the middle of nowhere, exceptional Finance Directors for growing business areas or simply an HR Manager from an automotive background with extensive international resourcing expertise - basically the needle in the proverbial haystack. :) I built, led, coached and developed teams of up to 6 employees in Berlin, Hamburg and London which gave me great pleasure and was among the TOP 5 performers in the company.
