An internal restructuring leads me to the same work under a new company name. In addition to these topics I am also responsible for the future of open source within METRO.digital. This includes streamlining existing approaches, building a legal construct that ensures the interests of the company while being flexible enough to support all of METRO's developers in their endeavours to work on open source projects. It is an exciting journey that I can actively lead!

Together with my team, I develop the in-house Kubernetes solution for METRO. This Kubernetes stack is tailor-made for METRO’s use case while remaining flexible. Its deployment is fully developed in-house; from the container runtime up to the Kubernetes components. To support this solution, I hold operational responsibility for our clusters as well as develop custom solutions to further improve it. I mainly write Go code in my day-to-day work and use DevOps methodologies to deliver our clusters.

During my time at HPE, I was able to gain first-hand experience in a multitude of different roles in a global company while studying applied computer science. This allowed me to apply the knowledge I gained in the university directly in a practical setting. My work ranged from developing an internal skill management platform, exploring cloud-native technologies in the context of healthcare applications, to creating ML-based intrusion detection systems for networks.
