In matters of three global initiatives – Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Schools for Africa (SFA), and UN Girls Education Initiative (UNGEI): Research and knowledge sharing on experiences, lessons learned and best practis-es within the 21 countries in the region; Information and guidance on approach, pro-cess and funding modalities, as well as contribution to global reporting and advocacy

• Expansion of the Child Grants Programme (CGP), providing direct cash transfer to very poor and most vulnerable households caring for children; • Institutionalization of the National Information System for Social Assistance (NISSA) as single national database for public social assistance; • Piloting a Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) in Education and Health to improve school enrolment and attendance, and to enhance child immunization and health

• Review of results and achievements as input to the organizational reporting to the Executive Board and the review of the organizations Medium-Term Strategic Plan (MTSP) • Desk review of organizational performance on applying policy and guidance on Results Based Management (RBM), Capacity Development, and South-South Cooperation (SSC) • Maintenance of a Performance Management System and improvement of Results Frameworks and Reports to bi-lateral government partners

• Coordination of a comprehensive Capacity Needs Assessment for the basic education sector as input to the development of a Sector Capacity Development Strategy • Establishment of a Sector Wide Approach, including improved donor harmonisation and joint basket funding as part of the endorsement for the Education-For-All FTI • Supervision of a Co-Funding arrangement with the Canadian Government (CIDA) in Teacher Education, including coordination of activities, financing and reporting

• Coordination of agencies of the German Development Cooperation to align technical and financial contributions to the education sector, including planning and reporting • Monitoring of the contribution of the German Development Cooperation to the implementation of the Paris Declaration and the Millennium Development Goals

• Institutionalization of Aid Effectiveness and Donor Harmonization in the context or the implementation of the Paris Declaration (PD) in Sub-Sahara Africa • Review of organizational monitoring and evaluation instruments with regard to Results Based Management (RBM) for improved accountability on effectiveness and efficiency
