German Industry and Commerce (GIC) Greater China - the service provider of the foreign German chambers abroad (AHK) - works as a profit oriented consulting company. The GIC's daily consulting work consists of a variety of services, e.g. legal and investment, media and communication, finance and taxes, HR services. On the one hand I was involved in business development and internal management, including HR. I also presented investment opportunities in Germany to Chinese companies and investors.

I lead a team of 5 Chinese and German staff with two fields of responsibility: 1) Internal function (50%): Head of HR (for around 80 employees): HR strategy & policies, employer branding, personnel marketing, recruitment, labour contracts, performance management, training need analysis, learning & development. 2) External function (50%): Head of HR services like recruitment, executive search, training, HR consulting, job fairs.

I concentrated on supporting companies in Germany, the UK and China in various HR, IR and PR activities. During these nine years I trained hundreds of people, created a study program "Fit for China", coached European and Chinese managers and solved HR problems (e.g. during a merger). I also worked as an IR/PR manager preparing companies to get listed, writing annual and quarterly reports as well as press and ad-hoc releases for stock-listed companies, conducting investor events.

Responsible for market analysis, contents and design of participant material and the delivery of the whole Further Education program. Senior trainer & coach, training methodology & didactics as well as HR development of our own 20 trainers and coaches. Our courses (often with IHK certificate): : Change Manager (12 months), Key Account Manager (8 months), Financial Consultant (12 months), Coach (3 months), Profile and Career Coaching (3 weeks)

The German Tennis Federation has 1.4 million members and is the biggest tennis association in the world. In 1994 full-time employed as PR Manager (No. 2 after the Head of PR), solely responsible for the German National Men’s Championships in 1994; regular PR work e.g. for Davis Cup, Federations Cup, Panasonic German Open. Since 1992 regular freelance PR work, author of the weekly news service for 700 stakeholders and journalists all over Germany, of tournament brochures and press-kits.

International Management, Human Resources Management in China

I did research on human dimensions of learning, learning theories and training and developed a systematic approach for teaching, skill enhancement and personality development in the field of tennis education and training. Being a tennis player and coach during my university time helped a lot to combine practical teaching experience with theoretical insights and contributed a lot to my following career as an HR Professional.

During my university time I was particularly interested in training and coaching. In addition to my sports science and sports psychology courses I minored in psychology and also studied philosophy, because I wanted to see what answers these academic fields could contribute to my questions how to best train and coach people. I am in addition well trained in media & journalism, completed the media/journalism study programme and graduated from Hamburg University.
