Design, implementation, testing and release of a real-time, distributed system providing forecasts and real-time trading recommendations to dealers in the foreign exchange markets.

Design and production of a cross-development real-time programming environment, written in Modula-2. Jointly introduced UNIX into Ascom Hasler and established a company-wide UNIX centre of “know-how”.

Designed and implemented a complete relational DBMS including a B+-tree storage mechanism and a query processor and optimizer. The DB++ RDBMS was implemented with a small footprint in order to work on Unix machines with limited memory (64k) and was considerably faster at processing queries than other available RDBMs at the time.

Developed a graphics package in BCPL for display of scientific data to run on an IBM 370/165 running MVT/TSO. Pre-processing of scientific data using PL/1.
