    PhD Candidate

Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light

  • Visiting Scientist

    Harvard Medical School

This project was based on a collaboration between the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light and Harvard Medical School. The research work mainly focused on applying highly sensitive, resonance based optical biosensing to the detection of trace amounts of biomarkers in body fluid such as blood or urine for the early diagnosis of specific diseases, i.e. Parkinson’s disease. As the project leader, this project required exceptional communication and coordination between different departments.

  • Research Scientist

    STICHT Technologie

As a research scientist, I focused on implementing optical technology with mechatronics to improve the operating accuracy of a system. I was mainly responsible for exploring different solutions for various aspects, including the design and construction of the preliminary system models for testing.

  • Research Intern

    Philips Research Center

At the Philips Research Center, I participated in research and the design of commercial, optical based healthcare devices as an intern. Optical technology was widely integrated with wearable devices, such as a smart-watch, to monitor health condition.

  • Assistant Engineer

    SIEMENS

In this project, I was involved in smart grid and central power distribution as an assistant engineer. For the smart grid, I focused on a literature search and assisted in scheduling a smart grid conference. We invited experts to explore possibilities in implementing a smart grid system in Taiwan. In this central power distribution system project, I mainly contributed to the system setup and solving engineering problems on the construction site.
